Bio/Description

Vineet Chander is an Assistant Dean in the Office of Religious Life, overseeing the Hindu Life Program and serving as the Hindu chaplain on campus. He has been at Princeton since the inception of the Hindu Life Program in 2008—marking him as the nation’s first full-time Hindu chaplain in higher education. Dean Chander holds a JD (George Washington University Law School) and an MA in Religion (Rutgers University); he is currently pursuing a doctorate in Higher Education at New York University, where he has been appointed the Vera and Sam S. Jain Fellow in Vedanta Studies. 

Dean Chander is a Fellow at Rockefeller College, and a member of the Princeton University Art Museum’s Community Advisory Board. He and his family live near campus and can often be found in town pursuing vegan treats.
