
Dr. Vineet Chander is an Assistant Dean in the Office of Religious Life, overseeing the Hindu Life Program and serving as the Hindu chaplain on campus. He has been at Princeton since the inception of the Hindu Life Program in 2008—marking him as the nation’s first full-time Hindu chaplain in higher education. Dr. Chander holds a JD (George Washington University Law School); an MA in Religion (Rutgers University); and a doctorate in Higher Education (New York University). He is the co-author of two academic texts, and multiple articles, on Hindu chaplaincy and related topics.
Dr. Chander is a Fellow at Rockefeller College, and a member of the Princeton University Art Museum’s Community Advisory Board. He and his family live near campus and can often be found in town pursuing vegan treats.
